• Hearing aids are considered “optional prosthetic devices according to Federal law.
• Hearing aid purchase is not covered by most of the health insurances offered today.
• Many of our children and adults are not wearing hearing aids due to the high cost of purchasing them.
What Our Way is Doing
• Our Way has started a hearing aid G’mach
• Our Way is collecting used hearing aids so that they are available to our members.
• Our Way is working with hearing aid dealers to refurbish these aids so that they can be fit to the consumer.
• Our Way is loaning these hearing aids to our members who need them.
