Job Placement

The Vocational Services Department serves a broad spectrum of individuals to meet a broad range of employment needs, including full-time and part-time positions.

Yachad/NJCD has placed individuals in a variety of settings, including:

• Mailroom services
• Law Firms
• Stocking and Warehousing
• Clerical Services
• Food and Restaurant Services
• Libraries
• Supermarkets
• Local Community Businesses

All employees start out with full time, on-site Job Coaches.

Job coaches are members of the Yachad/NJCD staff who are trained to:

• Support Yachad/NJCD employees in new work situations
• Support new employers of Yachad/NJCD clients
• Facilitate the overall transition process
• Build natural supports that ultimately enable Yachad/NJCD clients to succeed on their own
• Job coaches stay as long as is necessary

Yachad/NJCD Vocational Services currently provides services to individuals age 18 or over, that have a registered disability. Vocational Services currently serves individuals that live in New York City or in New York State and are able to work in or near New York City.

All clients of the Vocational Services department also have full access to a variety of other services provided by Yachad/NJCD.
