Your responsibilities will include caring for our Yachad members, physically and emotionally, and mentoring our high school students. In addition, you may be assigned to some food preparation duties, or any other jobs that will help our trip. Staff for this position must be a minimum of two years post high school.Camper Programs
Yachad offers a variety of camper programs at various sleepaway camps, including Morasha, Mesorah, Nesher, and Moshava. We are looking for counselors who enjoy going to a camp and working with Yachad members. Yachad members at these programs range in age from 9- 21 and have a variety of needs- both physical and emotional. Your responsibilities will include caring for our Yachad campers and facilitiating inclusion (or mainstreaming) with the mainstream campers. Staffing ages differ for these programs. Applicants for Moshava, Mesorah and Nesher can be finishing their senior year in high school and older, while staff for Morasha must be minimally one year post high school. In addition, we are planning a very limited counselor-in-training program at Moshava that will allow a few select people who are currently in their junior year of high school to go to camp as staff.Work Programs
Many Yachad members are capable of being fully productive members of society. Therefore, we provide them with jobs at various sleepaway camps (Moshava, Mesorah, Morasha and Lavi) where they are assigned jobs that they do with great skill and dedication. We are looking for some patient job coaches who will act as a counselor/job coach within our work programs. Responsibilities will include overseeing the Yachad workers when they are working, making sure that they know what is expected of them, that there are no disagreements between boss and worker, in addition to supervising the Yachad workers when they have free time, i.e. ensuring that all are back in the bunk at curfew time. Staffing ages differ for these programs. Applicants for Lavi can be finishing their senior year in high school and older, while staff for Morasha and Moshava must be minimally one year post high school.Yachad Getaway
This two or three week Getaway program, generally takes place the last week in June and first week of July. It is a chance for Yachad members to have a relaxing vacation without the pressure of a bus tour. Responsibilities for this program would include care of our Yachad participants, along with various jobs to help the program run smoothly, i.e. making beds, setting a supper table. We've added a third week of travel called the Getaway Travel program. This week can be an add-on week to the Getaway program or as a stand-alone program.
