Part-Time Administrative Assistant, Yachad (Brooklyn, NY)

Seeking efficient, organized, office manager with professional telephone and advanced computer skills to work within special education school environment; to systematize records, schedules, calendars etc., and to serve as liaison to NY State DOE, OPT and Govt offices, and other available programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day functioning of a nonprofit organization
  • General administrative projects
  • Assisting with organization billing functions and managing timely payment of bills
  • Assisting families of developmentally disabled individuals in acquiring funding from various state-run programs
  • Following up with funding agencies on the application progress of our individuals
  • Fostering relationships between Yachad and potential new families

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating logistics of the Vocational Program
  • Responsible for accurately documenting client’s schedules
  • Managing Schedules of staff and clients
  • Conducting and following up on intakes
  • Keeping up to date with billing and regulations

  • Compiling, Collecting, and Organizing routine paperwork

National and Development Supervisor – National Department

Responsible, under the direction of the Director, National Department, to assist in the development of programming and fundraising in National Yachad Chapters to implement the goals of the organization, program promotion, events/outreach coordination, and various tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides direction for the Development, Planning, Implementation and Promotion of program activities around the country in Yachad regional chapters assigned to the position
  • Direct supervision of some national chapters
  • Provides for evaluation of staff development activities, in conjunction with national coordinators
  • Provides direction to staff, regarding professional growth and improvement of performance, as well as potential chapter growth
  • Coordinates and maintains standards of excellence for programs
  • Monitors program budgets
  • Program planning and preparation as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining required records on all participants enrolled in programs

Additional Responsibilities:
The Supervisor will be responsible for programming duties when advised by the Director, National Department and will assist in other events and responsibilities when required

Responsible, under the direction of the Associate Director / Director of Institutional Advancement, to assist in the development of programming and fundraising in Queens and Long Island to implement the goals of the organization, program promotion, Development, events/outreach coordination, and various tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides direction for the Development, Planning, Implementation and Promotion of program activities in Queens/Long Island
  • Coordinates and maintains standards of excellence for programs
  • Monitors program budgets
  • Program planning and preparation
  • Responsible for maintaining required records on all participants enrolled in programs
  • Responsible for the financial development of the chapter.

Additional Responsibilities:

Required to assist in other events and responsibilities when required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working within the Jewish Community

  • 3-5 Years of Development experience

Development Executive

Plans, directs, coordinates and implements personal solicitations, development activities, major fundraising activities and special projects as assigned by the Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fund Raising – While working within specifically assigned geographic areas, establishes short- and long-range goals for unrestricted funding sources. Develop relationships with key individuals to raise dollars for organization. Plans and executes individual solicitations, parlor meetings, educational events and other fundraising activities to raise dollars.
  • Researches public and private grant sources (agencies, corporations and foundations) to identify sources of restricted and unrestricted funding. Works with program staff to develop funding related projects.
  • Individual donor support – Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of introduction, acknowledgment, and scheduling and attending a minimum of two in-person visits per week.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure highest quality of communication to donors and prospects. Assist in ensuring high standards of acknowledgement letters, P.R. material, Website and all social media.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct fundraising experience with track record of individual solicitations
  • Knowledge of New York Jewish community helpful. Willingness to be part of a team, yet able to work independently on projects

Yachad Community Habilitation Workers

Work one-on-one with developmentally disabled individuals in order to facilitate community inclusion and work towards personal goals. Part time positions available in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Long Island. Schedule is very flexible, evening and weekend hours available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with individuals in their home or out in the community
  • Planning and implementing activities that help foster independence and promote community involvement
  • Helping individuals develop social and relationship-building skills
  • Supporting individuals in developing and achieving personal goals
  • Completing paperwork to track an individual’s monthly progress and monitor their work towards specific goals
  • Modeling productive and appropriate behavior for the individuals you work with
